Survivorship
AICAF Survivorship Program
The American Indian Cancer Foundation’s (AICAF) Survivorship Program addresses the needs of American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) cancer survivors, caregivers and their families. The Program provides collaborative technical assistance to clinics, communities and organizations working to implement or improve survivor programs for Native people. Program staff aim to increase awareness and knowledge of AI/AN cancer survivors through development of culturally-specific resources and care packages, social media campaigns, and AICAF’s Survivor Story Series. Survivorship Program work is currently funded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as part of the National Comprehensive Cancer Control Program (NCCCP).
If you are an AI/AN cancer survivor and are interested in lending your voice to our Survivor Story Series, please contact communications@aicaf.org.
Survivorship Awareness Month
A cancer survivor is any person who has been diagnosed with cancer, from the initial time of diagnosis, through treatment and remission until their journey into the spirit world. Support our cancer warriors in Indian Country by celebrating Survivorship Awareness Month in June! Join AICAF throughout the month as we provide new resources, share stories and honor our brave friends and family facing cancer.
