Principal Investigator

Dr. David Perdue an enrolled member of the Chickasaw Nation, is a board certified gastroenterologist (the first American Indian gastroenterologist). He holds a M.D. from the University of Washington and an M.S.P.H. from the University of Colorado. He spent three years on faculty with the University of Minnesota, Department of Medicine before leaving to help found AICAF. Dr. Perdue completed a post-doctorate fellowship at the University of Colorado’s Native Elder Research Program, interned with the Arctic Investigation Program in Alaska and completed the National Cancer Institute Summer Program in Cancer Prevention and Control. He has published multiple manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, predominately on cancer in American Indians.
